Format Cells to Currency -- Excel Android App

  1. Tap the cell you want to format to currency. Or tap the first cell in a range of cells that you want to format to currency. This will create a box around the cell with a circle at the bottom.
  2. Tap, hold, and drag the circle so the box surrounds all the cells you want to format to currency.
  3. Tap the main menu icon, which looks like a small arrow in the bottom right corner.
The first callout points to the cell or first cell in a range that you want to format to currency. Tapping it will create a box around the cell with a circle at the bottom-right corner of it. The second callout points at the circle that you have to tap, hold, and drag so the box surrounds all the cells you want to format to currency. The third callout points at the arrow at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Tapping this arrow will show the main menu.

  1. The main menu contains many other menus. Make sure you are on the submenu called "Home."
  2. Scroll down the Home menu options and tap the arrow next on the "Number Format menu item."
  3. On the Number Format menu, tap "Currency." This will format the cells you selected to currency using the default symbol.
  4. To choose the symbol, tap the arrow on the "Currency" menu item.
  5. Scroll down and tap the arrow on the "More Symbols" menu item.

  1. In this case, we are selecting "$ English (United States)."
  2. Doing so ensures that the $ symbol is used in the selected cells (cell range).
