Format Cells to Currency - Excel on a Computer
  1. Tap the cell you want to format to currency. You can also use the green box at the bottom-right of the first cell that was selected to highlight the range of cells you want to format to currency. This will create a box around the cell.
  2. Next, format the cells to currency by using the dollar sign $.

    The first callout is pointing to the range of cells that you want to format to currency. The second callout is pointing to the dollar sign located at the menu.

  3. If you don't have the dollar sign $ available to you in the Home menu, go to the cell format drop down menu.
  4. Click on 'More Number Formats'.

Once in you open More Number Formats:

  1. Click on Currency.
  2. Click on the symbol drop down menu. Scroll until you find the dollar symbol $, and select it.
  3. Then click OK
When you open the More Number Formats, Click Currency, then click the symbol drop down menu. Scroll until you find the "$ English (United States)" option. Click the OK button when you're done.
